ABRII and IAARD Workshop on Nanotechnology in Agriculture: Nano(bio)pesticides, Nanofertilizers and Nanosensors, 6th May 2019

Following a memorandum of cooperation between Iran and Indonesia on nanotechnology in 2017, Agricultural Biotechnology Research Institute of Iran (ABRII), hosted a four-member research group from Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Research and Development (LAARD) to convene a scientific workshop on Nanotechnology in Agriculture: Nano(bio)pesticides, Nanofertilizers and Nanosensors.

Dr. Hoerudin, SP, MFoodSt, the head of the delegation, welcomed the upcoming collaboration on agricultural nanotechnology and collaborative projects in the future. Dr. Hoerudin declared that according to their observation there are several activities closely related to the projects being conducted in Indonesia that mutual projects can be initiated based upon. It is very desirable to work with ABRII on nanobiopesticides, nanofertilizers and polymer nanocomposites. Moreover, he hoped for future expertise and facilities exchange between the two centers.

Hoerudin, SP, MFoodSt, PhD has served in the Agricultural Research and Development Agency since 1998. He completed his Bachelor of Agriculture education at the Bogor Agricultural Institute in 1997. Furthermore, he obtained his Master of Food Studies (2004) and PhD in Food Science (in 2012) from The University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia. In 1998-2004 he carried out duties at the Plantation Research and Development Center. Then since 2005 until now he served as a researcher at the Center for Agricultural Postharvest Research and Development (BB Postharvest).
